Trukai is one of PNG’s iconic household name over many years. The organisation was initially incorporated as “Rice Growers-Australia Pty Ltd” on February 17, 1970 and later changed its official registered name to Trukai Industries Ltd in October 1998.
Trukai is the leading supplier of rice to Papua New Guinea for 50 years. The name Trukai originates from a phrase in local Tok Pisin language “trupela kaikai”. When translated it literally means “really good food”.
Legend has it that Trukai logo was originally inspired by a traditional PNG mask from East Sepik Province. The traditional PNG style face mask represents our pride in our history, culture and heritage.
The Trukai mask is captured “smiling “, symbolic of the satisfying taste that our product brings to families across PNG and the trust gained from providing high quality products.
