For New Guinea Islands Roots Win Your Own Home winner Pauline Simahun, this Christmas is filled with hope, and new beginnings as construction on her dream home steadily progresses.

Pauline’s dream of owning her own home came a reality on 27 March 2025, when she was announced as the lucky winner of the promotion, securing a 2 bedroom Kit Home fully paid for and delivered by Trukai Industries Limited, under their Roots Rice brand.

The promotion itself ran from 7 October 2024 to 28 February 2025, with the live draw held on 27th of March across all four regions.

Trukai officials presented the Kit Home to Pauline in August, and she has since commenced construction. With visible progress underway, the structure of her home is beginning take shape, turning what was once a long-held dream into reality.

As the festive season approaches, Pauline describes her win as a true Christmas blessing.

While many families celebrate with gifts and gatherings, her greatest gift is watching her future home come together.

“This Christmas is truly a blessing for me and my family. Winning the Kit Home has changed our lives, and seeing my house being built now feels unreal. I had never thought I would one day own my own home,” Pauline said.

“I can’t wait to actually move into my home once it’s completed. Every time I see each stage of the construction being finished, I know I am one step closer to having a place I can truly call my own.”

Pauline expressed her gratitude to Trukai Industries for this golden opportunity, noting that starting construction was not easy for her and her husband. With the support of their families and community, they are now looking forward to completing the house by January or February 2026.
