Trukai Supports 28th National Mask & Warwagira Festival

As a testament to its ongoing commitment to Papua New Guinea's rich cultural heritage, Trukai Industries Limited has announced a K10,000 sponsorship for the 28th National Mask & Warwagira Festival.
This marks the eighth (8th) consecutive year that Trukai has proudly supported this iconic cultural event, which will take place from July 9 to 14 at George Brown Secondary School in Gazelle District, East New Britain Province.
The National Mask & Warwagira Festival is an annual celebration that brings together communities from across the province to showcase their unique masked dances, rituals, performances, and traditional arts and crafts. It highlights the diversity and richness of East New Britain’s cultural landscape.
The five-day festival is expected to attract hundreds of visitors, traditional dance groups, artisans, and performers from within the province and beyond.
“Trukai is proud to partner with the people of East New Britain, providing support for events that preserve and celebrate the very essence of our unique culture,” said Peggy Maha, Trukai Industries’ Marketing Manager.
“Our support for the Warwagira Festival—now in its eighth year—reflects our commitment to cultural empowerment, community engagement, and the promotion of tourism across the country. We believe in connecting communities and strengthening cultural identity through these vital partnerships.”
Trukai’s continued involvement underscores its strong partnership with the people, traditions, and communities of Papua New Guinea. This sponsorship also highlights Trukai’s role in boosting tourism, offering both local and international visitors an authentic experience of the nation’s diverse heritage.
